I’m l33t!

By Michael Lundberg | July 1, 2007

1 4m l33tYes, yours truly has joined the l33t ranks of the fashionably cool. “How,” you might ask? I received invitations to Joost (www.joost.com) and Pownce (www.pownce.com), two new services that are currently in private beta. “What’s private beta?” Well, private beta is just l33t code for invitation only. Private beta is how all the new cool Web 2.0 sites seem to be going live. The way it works is that once you receive an invitation, you’re granted an allotment of invitations to spread out to your friends. That way, the site can gradually, through word of mouth, thus giving the site operators a chance to work out the kinks before it’s released to the masses. In short, it’s viral and it’s l33t. Anyway, I’ve been invited to both Joost and Pownce and in order to spread the karma, I would be happy to offer them up to anyone who wants them. I just got my Pownce invite today, so I haven’t really had an opportunity to use it yet, but I’ve had Joost for a month or so now. I plan to do some kind of write up on them both later.

If you’re interested in an invitation to either, leave me a comment below and send me an email to mwlundberg -at- gmail -dot- com.  At the time of this writing, I have an unlimited number of Joost invitations (it actually doesn’t say, so I’m assuming it’s unlimited until they cut me off) and 6 5 Pownce invitations.

P.S. if you don’t know what l33t means, I’m not allowed to give you an invitation. Sorry, that was in the EULA. Yes, for both Joost and Pownce.  Don’t worry, I won’t quiz you in my invitation email.

P.S.S. Yes, I know that the picture says “1 4m l337.” Don’t worry, that’s an even more l33t way to say l337. Ugh… what am I saying?

P.S.S.S. My Pownce profile can be found here.
