The Simpsons Movie
By Michael Lundberg | July 21, 2007
I happened to be browsing around when I came across some interesting web tie-in promotions for the upcoming Simpsons Movie, which is set for release next Friday on July 27th. The website offers just about every form of promotional download known to man: ringtones, screensavers, and instant messenger icons, to name a few. What I thought was interesting were these two little tools:
Create Your Own Simpson Avatar (www.simpsonmovie.com) No direct link is available, but it’s easily found on the main page.
Simpsonize Me (www.simpsonizeme.com)
I found the avatar site better. After a couple of minutes, he’s what I’d look like, if I lived in Springfield:
I know, the hair’s a little off, but it was the only hairstyle that was even close to having sideburns. I look like a bizarre cross between Bart Simpson, Elvis and me. Eww.
I uploaded this picture into the Simpsonize Me tool:
And used these settings:

Which produced this result:
Not too impressive. I mean, I never wear tank tops! I’d make for a terribe Simpsons character.
Anyway, I thought it was a pretty kewl distraction. Oh yeah, here’s the latest trailer:
Favorite line of the trailer: “I’ll teach you to laugh at something that’s funny!” (Homer)
By the way, I’ve noticed that this trailer doesn’t load very well (hey - it’s not my fault!). So if it doesn’t work, you can find it at the main site, or at Apple’s trailer site.
