My New Addiction: WeeWar
By Michael Lundberg | August 6, 2007
Thanks to the wonder that is InviteShare (http://www.inviteshare.com), I am now the proud owner of a WeeWar account. At first, it didn’t look too interesting. I mean, it’s just this little harmless little round-based strategic war game. No big deal. It’s got you, know, like 10 different units. And a bunch of dumb maps to play on. And it is craza addictive! Let me count the ways…
I got invited to a match by some anonymous player and after playing for a couple of rounds - I have a craving for the battlefield! Seriously, the game reminds me of an incredibly simplified version of Starcraft or even Axis and Allies. The game is entirely browser based, and doesn’t require any plugins or even flash to play it (which means that it even works on the ubiquitous iPhone). You can play a round in about 2 minutes, and the time inbetween rounds can last anywhere from 1-7 days, which makes it perfect for playing at lunch at the office.
I’m trying to build up enough invitations so that I can play a 6 player game (you need to get 10 invites to qualify for a “pro” account). If you’re interested, hit the link at the top of my page and I’ll get a credit for you joining. Don’t worry - you’re first hit of the pipe is free. After that, I start charging you.
Invite me to a match. My WeeWar account is “mwlundberg”. Today is a good day to die!
