Get a shave and haircut from Sweeney Todd

There is a famous saying: “Revenge is a dish best served cold”. One of my favorite revenge scenes in a movie is in Fatal Attraction, when Michael Douglas’ character’s wife returns from the backyard to find their pet rabbit dead, in a pot of boiling water on the stovetop. Glenn Close plays a woman whose obsession slowly turns into madness. The movie is an absolute classic and is a terrifying tail of infidelity, rage, and revenge.
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is another movie based almost entirely on the concept of revenge. It stars the always great Johnny Depp as Sweeney Todd, a barber who is unjustly sent to prison by a spiteful judge, played by Alan Rickman. When Sweeney emerges from prison, he vows to seek revenge on the judge for his cruel punishment and the terrible effects of his absence on his wife and young daughter. The movie also stars Helen Bonham Carter as Sweeney’s accomplice who has a penchant for creating questionable meat pies. The movie is directed by Tim Burton and like most of Burton’s flicks, this movie has a very Gothic feel to it, which is offset by the curious but wicked songs and lyrics.
