Dopplr goes public

I have previously blogged about and handed out invitations to the travel-related social networking site, Dopplr.com. I received an email from them today, thanking me for participating in the private beta and announcing that they were opening their doors to the rest of the public:
Dear Michael,
We’re writing to thank you. We’re grateful that you were among the thousands of people who put the beta version of Dopplr through its paces in recent months. Until our official launch earlier this month, the site was available by invitation only. It was people like you who invited your trusted friends and colleagues to join, and helped us build a useful and reliable service.
During the beta phase we worked on a number of issues. First and foremost was making Dopplr easy to use - to be the best possible enabler of traveller serendipity - but also sturdy in its underpinnings. Only then did we add more features.
We are hardly done, of course, and you’ll see a variety of new features in coming weeks and months. We’ve heard from many of you about things you want to see in Dopplr, and are trying hard to turn your great ideas into features that everyone will find valuable.
