befuddlr: a Web 2.0-style distraction

Monday, November 26th, 2007

Have you seen befuddlr.com? I got this site earlier today via a Pownce from Kevin Rose. Yes, the Digg/Diggnation/Revision3 guy and no, I don’t know him - I’m just on his Pownce list.
The site is fairly simple:

First, you select an Flickr tag from a given list
Next, you select an image from the list […]

How-to post YouTube videos in Wordpress

Sunday, November 25th, 2007

I know that I’m a total noob for not figuring this out sooner, but this little problem caused me enough grief that I decided to go ahead and create a post describing how I fixed the YouTube formating issues that I’ve encountered since I started using Wordpress. Now, I generally consider myself a fairly […]

HelloTxt - a microblog aggregate

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

First off, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Second, I came across an site called HelloTxt, which is a simple site that seeks to aggregate all of your microblogging sites (sites like Twitter, Pownce, and Jaiku, to name a few). You just login to HelloTxt and type your update once and HelloTxt takes care of […]

Docstoc - the Web 2.0 way to share documents

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

A couple of weeks ago, I got an invitation to join Docstoc, a community driven site for sharing documents online. Think of it as the YouTube site for documents. Unlike many sites, this site has no web crawlers for indexing random documents. It relies entirely on its users to submit and tag […]

Is Twitter Down?

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

I had no idea that Twitter was so popular. This site, “www.istwitterdown.com” apparently exists solely to check on Twitter and tell you if the service is up or down. A simple “yes” or “no” appears on the page. I like Twitter, but it’s amazing that its uptime is so important that someone […]

A MyYahoo! Re-Design and Yahoo! Star Wars

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

You may not have noticed it, but Yahoo recently updated their My Yahoo! portal sites. I typically log into my My Yahoo! portal about once a week. All of the big portal sites offer stock quotes, but one of the things that I really like about My Yahoo! is that I can view […]

Free Moola Invitations!

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

I’ve handed out several Moola invitations in past blog articles (here and here). Moola was kind enough to give me tons more invitations to pass out (100 invitations, to be exact!). On top of that, they now allow users to create a simple page to automatically email out your invitations. You see, […]

Spock, a people search application

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

Over the last couple of days, I’ve seen a resurgence in activity related to my account on the Web 2.0 site, Spock (http://www.spock.com). In the last two days, I’ve received four separate requests to accept Spock users into my “trust” network. Granted, four invitations isn’t a ton of traffic, but considering that I’ve […]

Get into The Mixx

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

If you’re a habitual internet user like I am, then you’re probably familiar with the popular site, Digg.com. If you’re not, it’s a simple concept to understand - users login to the site and submit interesting article links and websites, along with a short description of what the article is about and the appropriate […]
